The Grinch Book Tag

I’ve mentioned before that I don’t celebrate Christmas, however I saw  this book tag on LibroLiv and I couldn’t resist because:

A) it looked so fun and creative

B) happens to be based on my first movie seen in the theaters

C) I’ve been called a Grinch many times for not celebrating Christmas

So, here we go!

Half of the lights on the Christmas tree are burnt out.

Name a book/series/character that started out good but then went downhill.

12358349

The Ruby Red trilogy. This was wasted on a teenage girl obsessed with a boy-jerk.

Annoying Great Aunt Sally will not leave you alone.

Name a book that you didn’t enjoy, but everyone else seems to love, so it never goes away.

6442769

I’m currently reading this but so far it’s not a hit, however people go gaga over this book, some even say it’s a contemporary classic. I try hard not to laugh at the thought or cry at the downfall of contemporary literature.

Your pets keep knocking over the Christmas ornaments.

Name a character that kept messing things up for everyone else (can’t pick a villain!)

518jnpdooflLena is like a bad omen throughout every book. If something bad happens it’s 99.9% likely it’s because of her.

You hear your parents putting out the presents and learn Santa isn’t real.

Name a book you were spoiled for.

6186357For me it was the entire series, I will never forgive them for that thing that shall not be named. But yeah, totally ruined.

It’s freezing outside.

Name a main character you just couldn’t connect with.

7736182

Piper McLean was a character that held no appeal to me. She was that girl who’s beautiful, knows it, yet always comments on how ugly she is….girl please! She also whined A LOT and thought Jason belonged to her. OOOOh she’s like Joey on Dawson’s Creek!!

Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ and it’s giving you anti-romantic feelings.

Name a couple you couldn’t stand.

12558285

I figured it’d be sorta tacky to mention Beautiful Creatures again with the Lena + Ethan or Ridley + Link relationships, so I settled for Jeb + Alyssa. I’m not sure if my hatred exist because I’m team Morpheus or because as a couple they’re just…terrible.

The scratchy, home-made, wool sweater you got for Christmas years ago but can’t get rid of.

Show some books that have been sitting on your shelves for a while, and you aren’t motivated to read, but you don’t have the heart to get rid of.

War and Peace is that novel everyone wants to read, but somehow never does. I’ve had it for a long time now and have attempted to read it 15 times but it’s never been the right time. The second book, since there isn’t a title on the front, is David Copperfield which if you’ve attempted to read or have read it, you understand why it’s still up there in my forgotten cloud.

Grandma Has Been Run Over by a Reindeer!

Name a character death you still are mad about. (Warn people for spoilers!) You can also use TV or movie deaths.

e3fa4b43c20e11dac0cf19ffd50600d0

(SPOILER)

I figured I’d switch it up and do a TV show instead of a book. When Opie died my heart literally stopped and I thought my brain would explode – mad or devastated weren’t even the words to describe this betrayal of my heart. Oh this is Opie from Son’s of Anarchy.

The malls are overly crowded with holiday shoppers.

Name a series that has too many books in it/went on too long.

30183

I gave up on this series after book 5 of 12. It was like there was a new book for everyday. Monday – book 1, Tuesday – book 2, Wednesday – book 3, etc. and nothing happened for FIVE books! I stopped wasting my time and moved on.

The Grinch

Name a main character you HATE. (No villians again!)

Bella. Bella. Bella Swan, you’re the absolute worst.

If you decide to complete this tag, pretty please tag me so I can enjoy your replies!

I can’t stand Bella. I’m one of those people that enjoyed Paper Towns though, but I don’t consider it a contemporary classic or anything like that. The story was fun, but it’s one I will probably forget over time.

I respect that. Everyone isn’t going to like the same novels but I’m glad you enjoyed reading it 🙂 Did you enjoy the movie (if you’ve seen it of course)? And lol isn’t Bella the worst!

This looks like a pretty fun tag! Although I am part of the population that fell in love with The Fault in Our Stars, I definitely agree with your sentiment regarding Paper Towns. I really don’t see its appeal.
